Winter youth concert

The Eureka Symphony held their winter youth concert featuring the winners of the competition for young musicians, Otis Harriel, Clara Lisle, and Kira Weiss.

Weiss, pictured, a 7th grader from Jacoby Creek Elementary School performs Allegro Appassionato, for Cello in B minor, Op. 43, written by Camille Saint-Sa(e)ns.

Weiss, at age twelve, has been studying the piano for nine years and the cello for seven. Harriel, from Arcata High, performed Concerto No.4 in D major, written by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Lisle, a senior at Arcata High, performed the 6th movement, Gloria, from Domine Deus, written by Antonio Vivaldi.

The next Eureka Symphony concert is scheduled for April 4 and 5 at 8 p.m. with a performance of music from the opera, Of Kings and Fairy Tales.
