First District Assemblymember Patty Berg visited the Sequoia Springs Assisted Living Community in Fortuna recently to discuss with seniors their concerns about health care and aging in California.

This year, Berg has introduced several new bills relating to seniors. Berg shared with the audience several of her proposed bills, AB 253, AB 2149, AB 2150, AB 2842, AB 2747 and AB 2747.

Berg commented on last year’s controversial Compassionate Care Act and her refined bill, AB 2747, which holds healthcare providers responsible for sharing vital information with their patients in regard to dealing with a terminal illness.

Berg has supported several bills addressing the needs of the growing baby boomer generation in California and this year she said she was proud to join their ranks after she recently received her Medicare card.
