The Flowers
The flowers were done by Sarah Abernathy of Abernathy’s flowers. The bride carried a bouquet of white roses, and freesias with silver acorn accents. The bride tied her grandmother’s wedding ring to her bouquet for something old. The church was decorated with large urns filled with lavender carnations, roses and white rose accents. The tables were decorated with tower vases filled with beautiful white orchids with lavender roses, freesias and willow branches, lavender hydrangeas floating with bowls. The tables were accented with silver acorns sparkling in candlelight.
The Food
Jeanne Dorris prepared a beautiful presentation of delicious appetizers, entrees and side dishes. Jeanne and her staff served southern pecan chicken, grilled tri tip and for side dishes, guests enjoyed smashed twice-baked potatoes, baked zucchini with a crumb crust and various fruit, green and pasta salads. The cake was made by Cherry Blossom Bakery of Eureka. It was a four-tiered cake with butter cream frosting. The layers consisted of white, carrot and pink champagne with various cream and mousse fillings. The cake was decorated with white roses and freesias. The cake topper was the couple’s monogram and the decorative accents on the cake were matching the beaded, crystal and silver thread accents of the bride’s dress. The groom’s cake was made by Ray’s Food Place. It was a chocolate cake with strawberry filling. It was in the shape and decorated as a Pabst Blue Ribbon beer bottle. The bakery changed the name to Robert Blue Ribbon especially for the groom.
Photographer
Robert Fell captured the day and helped preserve wonderful memories with beautiful pictures. The couple was loved working with Robert and are extremely please with his pictures.
Something else
The acorns in the bride’s bouquet, groom’s boutonniere and sprinkled on the tables are from the Acorn family’s property in Ruth lake. The favors were three Jordan almonds wrapped in tulle and tied with lavender and Tiffany blue ribbon printed with the bride and groom’s name. This is an Italian tradition and means health, wealth, happiness, fertility, and longevity for the couple. Robert & Sarah would like to thank everyone who came to help celebrate their special day and for everyone love and support.
