This year, the Humboldt Arts Council will be spearheading a public art display throughout the city of Eureka and are encouraging local Downtown and Old Town businesses to consider participating, news release stated.
Similar to the Cow Parade in New York, Art in Motion is intended to unite local artists, local businesses and the Humboldt Arts Council in showcasing the vast artistic talent within Humboldt County, the release stated.
Art in Motion is planned to serve as a major fundraiser for the Humboldt Arts Council, to support programs that include the Morris Graves Museum of Art.
The Arts Council is asking local business partners to participate in the public art display as a business sponsor at a $250 level.
For their participation, businesses will be given an artist mannequin to be displayed from July through October.
Participating businesses will be featured in a walking brochure and the HAC Quarterly Newsletter.
