Ashley Lynette Waters and Chad Anthony Hawley were married on Aug. 18, 2007, at Holy Cross Catholic Church.
The couple resides in Walnut Creek, Calif.. Amanda Bice of Oak Harbor, Wash. was the matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Laurel Singletary of Corning, Melinda Waters, the bride’s sister of Chico, and Lindsay Alves of Lockeford.
Tito Bertilocchi of Stockton was the best man. The groomsmen were Sam Maddalena of Chico, Chris DeNijs of Antioch and Brent Hawley, the groom’s brother of Stockton.
The bride is the daughter of Randal and Denniece Waters of Pepperwood. She is a 2001 graduate of Fortuna High School and a 2005 plant science graduate of California State University, Chico. She is a 2007 graduate of the California Culinary Academy and is a certified pastry chef. She is employed at Crustacean in San Francisco. The groom is the son of Randall and Rosemary Hawley of Stockton. He is a 2002 graduate of St. Mary’s High School and a 2006 business management graduate of California State University, Chico. He is employed as a store manager at Longs Drugs in Orinda.
The Setting
It was a bright and sunny day in Linden, Calif. The couple wed at Holy Cross Catholic Church with a reception following at Chestnut Hill Farms. It was a fairly large wedding, with all of the couple’s family and friends present. The outdoor reception was decorated with clear lights strung in the trees and bowls of live goldfish as the table centerpieces.
The Flowers
The bride carried yellow gerber daisies and the bridesmaids carried white daisies. The groomsmen were adorned with yellow calla lilies. All of the flower arrangements were designed by Denniece Waters, the bride’s mother. Daisies were chosen as a symbol of summer and the bright and happy future that lies ahead for the couple.
The Food
The event was catered by the Waterloo Club. Guests were treated to tri-tip, chicken, pasta, salad, bread, and a variety of appetizer type food. The bride and groom also surprised guests with a chocolate fountain, along with strawberries, marshmallows, rice crispy treats, and pretzels to dip and enjoy. The wedding cake was designed by the bride and created by Baybee Cakes Bakery in Stockton.
The Photographer
The photographer was Jennifer Lorentzen, a family friend of the groom. She is the owner of Captured by Jenn Photography in Lodi, CA. Many of the guests also took pictures throughout the ceremony and reception, including Laurel Singletary, who captured some amazing memories that were unseen by the main photographer.
Something Else
The weekend after the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception in Fortuna to allow family and friends who were unable to make it to the ceremony to celebrate the marriage. The reception was located at the home of Dee Daneri, a family friend in Fortuna. Guests were treated a barbecue, courtesy of the bride’s father, and a simple wedding cake, created by the bride. Following the local reception, the couple enjoyed an eight-day honeymoon in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
