The Arcata Chamber of Commerce announced Tuesday that Executive Director
Jenny Bowen submitted her resignation to President Julie Vaissade-Elcock.
Bowen said she will be taking time to spend with her daughter and family and
to pursue new business opportunities.

“Jenny has been a tremendous asset to the chamber for the past four years,”
Vaissade-Elcock said. “She has expanded the Fourth of July Festival into a
must-attend event for everyone in the community and has been spearheading
the 150th anniversary celebration for the city of Arcata. The board of
directors wishes her all the best in her future and thanks her for her
dedicated service.”

The board of directors will be appointing an interim administrator shortly
and will begin the search for a permanent executive director immediately.
