Rebecca Rice has been chosen as a finalist in the Dell Scholars Program as one of 250 other finalists chosen in the country to receive $20,000, a laptop and printer.
Rice ranks in the top 5 percent of the senior class with an overall GPA of 3.96. She has taken rigorous college prep courses that have included Honors and AP level classes. She is a member of the California Scholarship Federation and the prestigious Upward Bound program.
Rice has participated in extracurricular activities, including the Fortuna Creeks Project, Photo Club, Interact Club and Multicultural Club. After graduation, she plans to attend UC Santa Cruz.
The Dell Scholars Program enables more underserved students with financial need to achieve their potential through higher education and is offered to high school students participating in approved college readiness programs.
