Sunny Brae Middle School students have played a few different roles in the past month — working as Cupid and Easter Bunny helpers. While they had fun doing it, the real joy came in giving to the community, when they delivered hundreds of dollars to the American Heart Association and nearly a hundred Easter baskets to children in need.
In February, they created hundreds of valentines, which raised $400 for the American Heart Association. They gathered enough treats to fill 80 baskets, which were delivered to the Humboldt County Children Youth and Family Services. From there, case managers delivered them to children throughout the county who would not otherwise receive Easter goodies.
