Eight-year-old Myranda Selvage of Eureka has cystic fibrosis, which qualifies her for a wish from the Greater Bay Area Make-A-Wish Foundation, a news release stated.

She loves theme-park rides, especially roller coasters, and is a big fan of Goofy and Pluto, so it was easy to decide on her wish — to go to Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fla.

Myranda and her family will fly to Florida on Sunday, May 4, for a six-night stay.

While in Orlando, the family will have a three-day pass to cover all four Disney theme parks: Magic Kingdom, Epcot Center, Disney-MGM Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park.

They will also have a pass to Universal Studios Florida, SeaWorld and Island of Adventure. Accommodations for their stay will be provided by Give Kids the World.

The Greater Bay Area Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.

For more information or to refer a child for a wish, phone 800-464-9474 or visit www.makewish.org.
