With the help of their AmeriCorps partnership, and many community donations, they helped save the garden which was scheduled to be demolished due to the future new construction of the school.

On Saturday, May 3, a group of people got together along with about nine students and some student volunteers from Manila. They moved seven, eight-by-four feet garden beds and saved all the dirt inside and freed it of weeds.

They also recycled cement blocks and paved a path in the garden.

Their hope is to create a quaint learning garden that attracts the students, teachers, as well as local wildlife. Fruits, vegetables, flowers, and herbs will be planted in the garden. An arbor will be placed to welcome guests.
