Literacy Project thanks its supporters

Dear Editor,

The Humboldt Literacy Project extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped make our annual fundraiser, The Great Humboldt Trivia Challenge a huge success, and special thanks to Cher-Ae Heights Casino, Ron Baduin and the staff. We couldn’t have done it without you. Thanks to the Times-Standard, and KHUM for all your help in getting the word out. To all the donors, teams and spectators, who came to watch and cheer on their teams, you are all fantastic.

This year we almost doubled our teams and had many, many more spectators. Of course, as much fun as it was, it’s about literacy. As you read this letter, remember there are many people in Humboldt County who cannot do this simple task most of us take for granted.

We at Humboldt Literacy Project, extend an open invitation to anyone interested in becoming a volunteer, or supporting our endeavors to fight the war against illiteracy.

Melanie Chase
Executive Director
