Governor Schwarzenegger understood the need to fill the seat of the late Roger Rodoni on the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors promptly. His appointment of Rodoni’s widow, Johanna, will mean the board will quickly be at full strength.
In Johanna Rodoni, citizens of the Second District will have a ready set of ears to hear their concerns. For 30 years, she was her husband’s partner in marriage and business. Mrs. Rodoni has long played an active role in civic life. She is executive director of the Buckeye Conservancy which advocates for sustainable natural resources; is on a board member of the county fair, the California Cattlemen’s Association, the Humboldt County Cattlewomen’s Association, the county farm bureau and the Redcrest Grange.
Like her husband, who was widely admired for his straight-forward approach to issues and people, Johanna Rodoni will speak her mind as well as be a good listener. She understands full well that the economic prosperity of Humboldt County’s people is a fundamental part of our environment.
We wish Johanna Rodoni well as she takes up her duties on the board of supervisors.
The BIG question is:
Will the Eureka Reporter endorse the late Roger Rodoni rather than choose between the two democratic candidates?
