Dear Editor,

Voters in the Second District Supervisor race should be aware that they may become the victims of a clever “bait-and-switch” scam.

The governor has appointed Johanna Rodoni to fulfill the term that expires on December 31, 2008. However, the governor has not promised to appoint her to the 2009-2010 term that would run if the name “Roger Rodoni” wins the June 3 primary.

It is just as likely that he will appoint another individual. If he actually intends to appoint Mrs. Rodoni, then he should announce that intention now so the voters of the Second District will actually know who the candidate is that they are voting for if they chose to vote for the “Roger Rodoni.”

This is just another example of the potential for election fraud and for undermining the democratic process: Play on the voters’ sympathy and let them think they are electing one individual, then substitute another.

Voters beware. Know who you are voting for.

Do not give your vote to a calculating politician in Sacramento and his fat-cat local backers!
