Ferndale Repertory Radio Theatre will present two half-hour live radio shows Thursday starting promptly at 7:30 p.m. Presented before a live audience and broadcast live on KHUM Radio, 104.3 and 104.7 FM, will be an episode of “Night Beat: The Elevator Caper.” The story features “Lucky” Stone, newspaper reporter, out in the middle of the night on the streets of Chicago in search of a story, which usually means a run-in with crime. Not only does he get his story, but he manages to solve the crime and see the criminals off to the “big house.”

Then it’s “Sorry Wrong Number” by Lucille Fletcher, the well-known story of a neurotic, bedridden woman who accidentally overhears a conversation with Death, and who strives frantically to prevent that murder from claiming an innocent victim. Agnes Moorehead was the original voice of the role, first broadcast on May 25, 1943, and, by popular demand, revived the role once a year for the next five years.

Director Gary Franklin has assembled a cast that includes Marilyn McCormick, Brad Curtis, Gayle Susan and Radio Theatre resident actor Nikolai Kassatkin, with resident sound effects artist Daniel L. Lawrence. Tickets are $5 for general admission and attendees 17 and under are free. Tickets can be reserved through the box office by phoning 707-786-5483.
