Patricia Jo Evans, 77, passed away on May 13, 2008, in Eureka, Calif. She was born in Eureka on August 13, 1930, and was a lifelong resident of Humboldt County.

Pat was a member of AA for 38 years and was instrumental in starting the first Women’s Recovery Home in Humboldt County. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary #130.

Pat had a love of flowers and gardening. She was a very caring person and never met a stranger.

Patricia is survived by her sons Tim Defazio and wife Jeanette, Chris Defazio and wife Judy Bachman; daughters Laura Cordle and husband Mike Cordle and Suzanne Lundquist and companion Todd Johnston; sisters Pod Patterson and husband John and Peggy Dudley; brother Pete Evans and wife Doris; grandchildren Christen Defazio, Scott Defazio, Evan Defazio, Justin (J.D.) Dukes, and Brandon Dukes; nieces and nephews Sandi Case, Terri Pfaff, Sherie Styre, Larry Dudley, Jeff Patterson, Mike Patterson, Debbie Patterson, and Denise Measelle.

She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Lillian Evans; and brother-in-law Robert Dudley.

In lieu of flowers, Patricia’s family ask that friends make a donation in her name to the American Cancer Society, 2942 F Street, Eureka, Calif. 95501, or a charity of your choice.

Patricia’s family invite you to a memorial service on Saturday, May 17, 2008, at 12:30 p.m. at Faith Center Foursquare Church, 1032 Bay Street, Eureka, Calif.
