Laverne Helen Thurman was born March 20, 1932 in Pulaski Township, Minn. She passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at her home in Rio Dell surrounded by her loving family after a long battle with cancer. She married Art Foster and had two sons, David and Mike.

On Dec. 31, 1968 she married George Thurman and they had two sons, Steve and Mike. She loved working with her flowers and being with her grandchildren.

She lived in Phillipsville for over 30 years and worked at the local laundromat where she loved visiting her friends. She was a loving mother and will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her sons Mike Foster, Steve Thurman, and Mike Thurman, three sisters, one brother, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husbands Art Foster and George Thurman, a son David Foster, two sisters and one brother.

Friends are invited to attend graveside services on Monday June 2, 2008 at 1 p.m., at the Ocean View Cemetery in Eureka. Arrangements are under the direction of Goble’s Fortuna Mortuary, Fortuna.
