Law enforcement academy graduates

Law Enforcement Training Center Director Mike Wells, far right, announces the 2008 graduates of the College of the Redwoods 102nd Basic Law Enforcement Academy during a ceremony held Friday afternoon.

Thirty-four academy cadets from the “True Blue 102” achieved completion of the basic police training courses at the College of the Redwoods. Each cadet completed more than 900 hours of training in various techniques, including firearms, driving and defensive tactics. Several graduates were honored for achievements on both mental and physical tests, as well as community service and overall performance.
