The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors is expected to approve a contract allowing the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office to extend police coverage to Blue Lake at its meeting Tuesday.

The board will meet in the Supervisors’ Chamber in the Humboldt County Courthouse in Eureka.
The board is also expected to approve its budget for next fiscal year.

The HCSO offered a proposal to Blue Lake in April for at least one deputy to patrol in the city for 10 hours a day, seven days a week.

The remaining 14 hours would be emergency calls only. Two deputies would be allocated to Blue Lake. The HCSO would generate $200,000 from the contract with Blue Lake.
