CR Wood Fair starts Saturday in Arcata

The College of the Redwoods Wood Fair will take place this weekend, hosted by Almquist Lumber Company in Arcata.

The event is co-sponsored by the Humboldt Woodworking Society and will feature a juried show of more than 40 pieces of fine woodworking, various woodworking demonstrations and seminars, vendor booths and more.

Doors will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and admission is free.

Wood Fair Seminar Schedule

Saturday

11 a.m. — Marquetry demonstration by Susan Bicknell of Rosebud Woodworking. Susan will demonstrate a shop built foot operated scroll saw and how to make marquetry inlays with shop sawn veneers.

12 p.m. — Festool Demonstrations

1 p.m. — Wood Bending with Dennis Mussleman, Dennis will demonstrate how to bend wood in the technique he uses to make Windsor chairs

2 p.m. — Festool Demonstrations

3 p.m. — Wood Turning with Bill McClay. Bill will demonstrate pen turning, tea lights, and bowls.

4 p.m. — Festool Tool Demonstrations

Sunday

10 a.m. — Delta/Porter Cable/DeWalt Tool Demonstrations
