Caltrans to use new method to control pampas grass

The California Department of Transportation has completed testing of a non-herbicide, environmentally friendly method to control pampas grass. This method, called hydromechanical obliteration, uses small amounts of cold water at a very high pressure through a special nozzle to pulverize plants, which also destroys the roots, according to a Caltrans news release.
