Fill the boot

Firefighters from the Humboldt Fire District and Eureka Fire Department collected money for Jerry’s Kids at the Bayshore Mall, Saturday. Arcata firefighters also accepted donations on the Arcata Plaza. The goal of the “Fill The Boot” project is to raise $10,000 to send local children living with muscular dystrophy to a weeklong summer camp. Donations can also be made at local fire stations. Annual collectibles sale

The Historical Sites Society of Arcata will hold its annual collectibles sale Aug. 23 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The sale will be held at the Phillips House Museum, Seventh and Union streets, Arcata.
